About

A lot of people think that to believe in Jesus, you must automatically shut down your brain. They think that Faith and reason have no place together. But God never wanted blind obedience. Don’t believe me? Here’s an example:

“Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD: “though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.” -Isaiah 1:18.

God implores Israel to reason with Him. To sit down and discuss the matter logically. You might be thinking “Well, Pastor, you’re just pulling random verses from Scripture and making them say what you want.” The thing is, God never wanted us to shut our brains down.

And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.’” Luke 10:27.

Not just emotionally (heart), spiritually (Soul) and Physically (Strength), but reasonably (mind). If there is a God, and He designed us, does it not stand to reason He creates us to think, act, walk and talk for ourselves? That is why this blog exists, to reasonably go through the Bible or issues of the day, and, hopefully, present it from a God’s eye view. To have a discussion, like two friends over coffee who may disagree, but are able to have a reasonable talk with one another. Won’t you sit, enjoy a nice cup of coffee, and reason together with me?

Updates Wednesdays and Fridays…or whenever the muse strikes. To follow our “Look Like Jesus” Facebook group, click here (this really does update twice a week, and is an in-depth break down of the new testament to demonstrate how we can look like Jesus).
